Brown in a distressed finish

Brown lends itself to earthy, timeworn decorative finishes. Apply over a contrasting base and use a lighter chalky final coat for a visibly layered result.

Layer, dry and reveal the texture

Cadence recommends an acrylic base coat, followed by Vintage Legend, with Very Chalky suggested for the final colour layer. Allow at least 12 hours before vigorous scraping or distressing. The finished effect depends on the base colour, layer thickness and areas you reveal.

Finish for your decorative project

Work on a clean, dry surface and follow the appropriate preparation for the material. Cadence recommends Hybrid as a base on glass or metal, alongside its surface-specific primer guidance. A compatible wax or velvet-matt varnish can finish the dry paintwork.
