Blue against a dark base

Blue gives dark decorative surfaces a cool metallic accent through raised stencilling and freehand texture. On pale backgrounds the effect is much more transparent, so try both light and dark samples if you are planning a layered composition.

Create a raised pattern

Spread the paste with a spatula through a stencil or apply it freehand. A fan brush or sponge offers different textures. Build a controlled layer and allow it to dry naturally; thicker areas take longer.

Use on prepared hard craft surfaces

Cadence lists wood, polyester, glass and ceramic plaster among its suitable materials. Clean away dust and grease, allow the surface to dry and test the complete base-coat and paste combination before decorating.

Let the relief dry naturally and fully before handling. Cadence gives a typical 3–6 hours depending on conditions, with thickness affecting the time. Clean tools with water promptly and protect the jar from frost.
