Cadence Createx Natural Rust Effect Paint – 120ml

A reactive base for the Createx effect

On its own the paint provides a brown base; the separately available Rust Activator speeds up oxidation to develop the characteristic rust effect. Use the compatible products together according to their instructions.

Add texture if your design needs it

Apply the paint evenly with a suitable brush. Cadence’s technique guide also describes adding its separate Rust Powder while the paint is wet before applying the activator, for a more textured finish.

Allow the appearance to develop

Let the piece dry naturally. The manufacturer describes the effect developing over several hours, with around 24 hours for the fuller result. Test the whole process on a sample before decorating a finished object.

Application and care

Follow the paint and activator labels throughout the process. When using the acidic activator, wear gloves and protective goggles and work outdoors as Cadence advises. Protect surrounding surfaces and allow natural drying.
